Curriculum Matrix

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF THE COURSES OFFERED

The PPGSIS curriculum aims to discuss the program’s syllabus within its area of concentration and lines of research, presented in a flexible manner.

The Master’s curriculum components are divided into three compulsory subjects (Field Taxonomy, Conservation Genetics, Teaching Internship I, and Research Project – Qualification), one compulsory subject from the student’s chosen research line (Phylogenetic Systematics or Prospecting and Characterization of Natural Products), and optional subjects. The structure is designed to allow completion of the Master’s degree in a minimum of eighteen and a maximum of thirty months.

For the PhD, credits are divided into four compulsory subjects (Field Taxonomy, Conservation Genetics, Teaching Internship II, and Teaching Internship III), one compulsory subject from the student’s chosen research line (Phylogenetic Systematics or Prospecting and Characterization of Natural Products), and optional subjects. The structure is designed to enable completion of the PhD in a minimum of 36 months and a maximum of 50 months.
